Samsung has announced that it will issue a global recall of Galaxy Note 7 smartphones amid battery issues. The company has released an statement following yesterday’s report about exploding batteries.
Samsung said that it has conducted a thorough investigation and found battery cell issues on Note 7 devices. The battery in the Note 7 is made by Samsung SDI, its battery arm. The company said that as on September 1, a total of 35 cases have been reportedly globally. Samsung also stated that it has stopped sales of Galaxy Note 7 worldwide. In case of customers who have already bought the Galaxy Note7 devices, Samsung will voluntarily replace them with a new one over the coming weeks.
